Shanghai Ocean University Research Center of ecological safety of harbor and shipping takes ship ballast water, harbor and adjacent sea area as the research object and carries out the harbor ecological observation, environmental monitoring, ocean ship ballast water detection, harbor and adjacent water marine invasive species and the prevention and control of basic research and related technology research and development. The center has ballast water land-based test base and testing laboratory, CNAS and CMA certificate, and has won the title of Marine Engineering Equipment Inspection and Testing Technology National Engineering Laboratory. And the center has applied for the USCG approved laboratories at present.
